Tower Works will be the best connected residential scheme in the north
Tower Works on Globe Road, Leeds has announced its commitment to becoming WiredScore certified by international connectivity rating scheme WiredScore Home. Tower Works is currently undergoing certification and it will be the first residential development in Leeds to attain the globally-recognised verification of infrastructure connectivity.
WiredScore Home empowers landlords and developers to improve the digital connectivity of their properties, helping them to understand at the design stage how to implement best in class digital infrastructure into developments. Its purpose is to save time, money and reduce the risk of expensive retrofits in the future as well as offering occupier’s transparency, reliable site-wide digital infrastructure, seamless connectivity and the best possible mobile connectivity right across the site.
The 245 unit built-to-rent residential scheme is currently awaiting planning permission. It will deliver two new residential buildings providing 1, 2 and 3-bedroom and duplex apartments to the south of the railway station. The scheme is being developed by Richardson and Ask Real Estate and built by Sir Robert McAlpine.
Commenting on the decision to target WiredScore accreditation John Hughes, managing director of Ask Real Estate said: “We know that having excellent home connectivity is a really important factor for people when choosing where to live. The occupiers who move into Tower Works will have the benefit of knowing that their homes have been future proofed and have the best possible level of connectivity.”
William Newton, President and managing director for WiredScore said: “Undertaking this commitment demonstrates the forward-thinking approach that is being taken to the development of Tower Works. Richardson and Ask Real Estate have recognised the immense value of investing in flexible and reliable digital infrastructure as part of their mission to provide a superior in-home experience for their occupiers.”
At the UK launch of WiredScore Home earlier this year The Rt Hon Jeremy Wright MP, the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport focused on the importance of wireless connectivity for the UK. He said: "WiredScore is an important part of the package of work that is needed if we are to be a truly world-leading digital economy."
